Mask fan mods

Post  Jaan on Sat Aug 15, 2009 6:42 pm

I'm posting this because a couple of people asked me about my fans today. Adding fans to a mask is easy, but for some reason I see a ton of hack jobs, like using 9v batteries with a 5v fan, fans that are too large to fit the mask without cutting the mask etc.

I modded my V-Force mask...

...and my JT mask (that's what I wore today)...

I'm sure you'll see a couple of guys trying those, thanks!

What was that plastic cleaner you recommended called?

Plexus. In fact, JT sells it specifically to clean their masks...

...and here is an "about" page from the Plexus web site with a lot of cliché advertising jargon;

I've been using it now for 2 or 3 years and it's worked great. I went to Harbor Freight and bought some cheap 100% cotton terry cloths and microfiber cloths. I clean off the majority of the paint with the terry, and then polish it with the microfiber.

Anyone who wants any help adding mask fans just let me know.
